Performing Arts at St Aldhelms

At St Aldhelm's Academy, we believe that the Performing Arts serve a vital purpose: to encourage creativity, inspire equality, and foster collaboration through shared ideas and self-expression. Our vision is that every pupil will have the opportunity to engage with all three expressive art forms—music, dance, and drama—creating meaningful and transformative experiences.

The Performing Arts offer students a way to step outside the confines of school life, providing them with the space to create, compose, and express themselves. Through these art forms, pupils can find their voice and grow as individuals, developing confidence and artistic abilities.

Beyond the classroom, we offer many opportunities for our students to experience the Performing Arts. As a partner school with the Lighthouse Theatre, we attend a variety of concerts, dance shows, musicals, and theatre productions. Our connections with the Arts University of Bournemouth, Soundstorm, the National Theatre, and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra further enrich our students’ exposure to the arts.

We regularly welcome expert practitioners from all fields of the Performing Arts, giving our pupils firsthand insight into professional life and the chance to develop their own talents. We are immensely proud of the opportunities we provide, and we take great joy in watching our students' love, appreciation, and talents for the Performing Arts flourish.
